Corporate Express - Heroes with a Community Conscience

Corporate Express, one of the world’s largest direct suppliers of office and computer supplies and services, this year is donating warehouse space and staff to help fill Red Nose Day merchandise orders  in Western Australia.

The task involves providing staff to pick, pack and address around 7,000 boxes of merchandise which will be despatched to businesses through out WA. Corporate Express have also provided the necessary stationery items and packaging to implement this massive distribution initiative.

On Saturday May 17th approximately 100 staff and recruited family and friends gathered to kick start the fulfilment process.  A massive 2,600 orders were fulfilled within several hours after which everyone enjoyed a barbeque lunch also generously supplied by Corporate Express. 

Staff will continue to provide their time on a daily basis during May and into June until all orders a completed.  Corporate Express staff will also provide their presence in the city on Red Nose Day Friday 27th June 2008 where they will sell Red Nose Day merchandise and raise an anticipated $10,000.

Community rallies behind Red Nose Day

Red noses, balloons, and generosity were in plentiful supply at Forrestfield Marketplace last Saturday, as shoppers showed their support for SIDS and Kids.

The Member for Hasluck Sharryn Jackson MP and state candidate for the new seat of Forrestfield Andrew Waddell spent their day promoting awareness of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) ahead of Red Nose Day on Friday 27 June.

Ms Jackson and Mr Waddell said they were overwhelmed by the community’s generosity and the interest the event generated.

“We were able to raise well over $1,000 for SIDS and Kids which is a great effort.

“I would like to extend my warmest, personal thanks to everyone who gave so generously in support of the Red Nose Day Appeal” Ms Jackson said.

She added the Red Nose appeal was as much about education as it was selling red nose products.

“We were kept very busy all day and the organisers from SIDS and Kids WA are to be congratulated for the wonderful way in which they co-ordinated the event” Mr Waddell said.

SIDS and Kids spokesperson Dee Taseff said state-wide donations were likely to exceed $500,000.
