On Red Nose Day evening, SIDS and Kids Victoria joined the Rotary Club of Albert Park, and hosted the 2005 Red Nose Day Grand Carnivale at the Plaza Ballroom, Melbourne.
300 guests, including celebrities Corrine Grant, Jules Lund, Nicky Whelan, guests from the cast of Neighbours and more, enjoyed an evening of fun and entertainment all in an effort to raise money for our foundation.
MC’s George Donikian and Meredith Chipperton were outstanding as hosts for the evening, with assistance from Mike Brady, Lisa Edwards and band, and DJ Stick Mareebo, who played some unforgettable tunes as guests danced the night away.
Fundraising activities on the night including the Live Auction and Silent Auctions and the Red Mystery Box competition assisted in raising nearly $20,000 for SIDS and Kids Victoria.
The Rotary Club of Albert Park also paid tribute and awarded Kaarene Fitzgerald the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for her dedication and commitment to the community. The award is
now on display at our Malvern Road Office.
We’d like to say a special thanks to our Victorian Red Nose Day sponsor, Community Pharmacy and Friendly Pharmacy, and to all other ball sponsors including Marriner Theatres, Network Ten and Wompro, for their support of this fantastic event. |
