SIDS and Kids Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation that was formed in 1978 through the joint efforts of SIDS parents, Health Department workers and other interesed people.

Much More Than SIDS...

In recent years, SIDS and Kids Queensland broadened its service provision to support people who have been affected by the death of a child from any cause - not just Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). 

This support incorporates perinatal deaths (including still birth and neonatal deaths), drowning, car accidents, sudden onset illnesses and any other cause of death.

The organisation's name was changed from SIDS Queensland to SIDS and Kids Queensland to reflect these broader services.
