SIDS and Kids ACT set to smash Christmas lights world record
This Christmas SIDS and Kids ACT will transform Canberra’s CBD into a magical festival of lights in an attempt to smash the record for the largest LED light image display in the world.
With more than a million lights on show, visitors will be part of a magical Christmas experience and witness the most spectacular display of lights the world has ever seen.
In 2013, the SIDS and Kids ACT Christmas Lights display made headlines around the world when David Richards decorated his family home with more than 500,000 Christmas lights and reclaimed a Guinness World Record he first held in 2011. The display attracted more than 75,000 visitors and raised close to $140,000 for SIDS and Kids ACT.
This year, SIDS and Kids ACT together with David Richards, lighting architects, electrical and civil engineers, designers, and an army of volunteers will attempt to break another Guinness World Record right in the heart of the nation’s capital.
Visit the SIDS and Kids ACT Christmas Lights in the City from Friday 28 November to New Year’s Eve 2014. Entry is by gold coin donation. For more information about the event or to volunteer at the display please call (02) 6287 4255 or visit www.inthecitycanberra.com.au
