On a wet and windy Saturday, on the 25 March, every world professional surfing champion of the modern era gathered at the Merewether Beach, Newcastle, home of four-time world champion Mark Richards to participate in a “once in a lifetime” photograph.

Now this is no ordinary photograph -
Shaun Thompson, Peter Townend, Barton Lynch, Michael Ho, Damien Hardman, Tom Carroll, Tom Curren, Kelly Slater, Martin Potter, Wayne Bartholomew, Sunny Garcia, Mark Ochiluppo and the man himself Mark Richards.......and again.........They are all original photographs........not a print.

The twelve champions, who hold 24 titles between them, had never been together in one place before. They gathered as a special tribute to Mark & Jenny Richards who lost a son Beau, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in 1989.

The limited edition “Once in a Lifetime Photograph of the 12 World Surfing Champions 1976 –1999”  is an original autographed photo which is archivally tab-mounted to preserve and protect it. It is framed in contemporary mahogany timer frame double matted with dark blue surround.  The size of the completed article is 810mm wide X 620mm deep.
