History

The Sudden Infant Death Association for the ACT and Southern Districts now known as SIDS and Kids, was formed in 1978 by a group of parents whose children had died through Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.Since 1999 SIDS and Kids supports the families of all children who die suddenly and unexpectedly from 20 weeks pregnancy through to six years of age regardless of the cause.

In 2002 the former SANDS ACT organisation joined SIDS and Kids to assist providing volunteer peer support to families affected by stillbirth or neonatal death.
