Leanne Raven, CEO


Leanne Raven, SIDS and Kids Australia CEO
Leanne commenced as CEO of SIDS and Kids Australia in January 2007 and is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children through the elimination of sudden and unexpected deaths and supporting bereaved families.  Prior to joining SIDS and Kids Leanne was a self-employed strategy and management consultant with executive and senior management experience in public health and education. Over the past 20 years Leanne has undertaken many leadership roles within human services, the education sector and family services areas.

Louise Ellis, Librarian
For the past 9 years Louise has worked for SIDS and Kids in gathering research into the prevention of sudden, unexpected death of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and the support of bereaved families. The research gathered by the Librarian supports the work of the National Scientific Advisory Group (NSAG), SIDS and Kids State and Territory Offices, our health promotion and bereavement support programs and bereaved parents.Louise hopes to maintain and build the SIDS and Kids collection of research (ASK Online) and encourage increased use of this specialized and valuable resource.

Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Team:

Yvonne Amos, National Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Manager
Yvonne has spent the last fourteen years working in the not-for-profit sector with particular focus on health promotion. With a finance and fundraising background Yvonne brings extensive experience in leading special events, direct mail, brand management, grants and communications. Yvonne has held a number of management and marketing roles within the SIDS and Kids organization since 2005 and is now happily based in Melbourne.

Debbie Chen, Red Nose Day Manager
Debbie is in charge of the national initiatives for Red Nose Day, SIDS and Kids’ largest annual fundraising campaign, which will celebrate its 25th year in June 2012. Debbie has spent more than 8 years managing key relationships in the corporate banking sector, where through her not-for-profit clients, she developed the passion and desire to make a difference and help not-for-profit organisations. “Managing relationships are critical in any industry and field. I hope to take my experiences from the corporate sector to help SIDS and Kids become more efficient, more effective and more successful.” Debbie has a marketing and IT background and is currently studying a Graduate Certificate of Social Impact at the Melbourne Business School.

Naomi Barmakov, Programs Assistant (Marketing & Fundraising)
Naomi joined the SIDS and Kids team in August 2010.  Naomi provides support to the Marketing and Fundraising staff, including supporting the Shop Online and Red Nose Day fundraising initiatives, as well as assisting with administration and office-duties.  Naomi’s is the first voice that you hear when you call SIDS and Kids Australia and is a vital member of the SIDS and Kids team.

Cameron Munro, Communication Projects Officer
Cameron joined SIDS and Kids in November 2011. His role involves liaising with other staff in relation to communications matters as well as writing for the SIDS and Kids e-newsletter, the SIDS and Kids website, the Red Nose Day website and other publications. Cameron has degrees in commerce, law and journalism and has worked in journalism and communications for more than 10 years.

Meghan Horwood, Accountant
Meghan Horwood is a vital part of the team at SIDS and Kids Australia managing our organisations accounts and reporting.  Meghan is dedicated and committed to the work of SIDS and Kids nationally and is a vital member of our team.
